Hey ladies & gents!!
So this is the time of year where we all try to get things together for the upcoming school year so weather your child is homeschooled or attends public school these tips I have will surely get you together.
Here I want to share with you what I do to prepare myself and my home for back to school. Back to school for most of us means transitioning from a relaxed summer vibe to a scheduled year of schooling, extracurricular and changing seasons. For some of us this time of year can be exciting and for the rest not so much. So if you want to start your school year off right keep reading.
I’m sure with summer most parents allow their children to stay up a little later than normal. So getting your child back on a regular sleep schedule will not only help them not be as tired in the morning but you will also get more of your nights back to spend some much needed quality time with your husband.
With getting a sleep schedule in order comes with establishing a routine leading up to bedtime and that would be what time is dinner served, what time they need to take baths etc.
Since where on the topic of routines you as mommy need to get yourself back into a school routine as well. We lead by example so what our children see they will do. Having a well thought out routine will save you so much time during your day to day and not to mention having a routine makes you feel great inside that’s what it does for me.
You must get your home organized! The school year brings on a lot so having your home organized is so important if you want a productive school year. I will create another post talking about home organization in depth.
Meal prep will also save you so much time if done properly. Having a weekly schedule of quick meals to prepare for your family is so the way to go it will save you money and constant trips to the grocery store.
This is a great time to go through your children’s clothes and see what still fits and what needs to be replaced. Since cooler weather is approaching its also a good idea to have some warmer clothing available as well.
Have a designated place for all school items in your home.
This is also a good time to start some kind of reading program or list for your child. You want them to have a real joy for reading so it very important to instill this into them and keep it going.
This is not so much of a tip but a good way to get your children excited for the school year. Start some fun tradition with them like having a special breakfast or a yearly photo. Whatever it is keep it fun for them.
